The VI survey was conducted by the ISS in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and with all the Italian Regions.
More than 50,000 primary school children participated in the latest survey, which made it possible to assess the lifestyles, nutritional status and family and school context of Italian children.
With this surveillance system, Italy has always participated in the WHO European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI), resulting, even in the latest survey, among the nations with the highest prevalence of overweight and obesity among children.
